Mahakumbh Nagar, December 28:
Indian Railways, particularly North Central Railway, has completed its preparations to ensure the successful organization of Mahakumbh 2025. The primary objective of the Railways during this auspicious event is to provide smooth, safe, and efficient travel services to millions of devotees, facilitating a seamless journey to and from this historic and spiritual event.
To achieve this, North Central Railway will operate more than 13,000 trains throughout the event. This includes over 10,000 regular trains serving passengers, along with more than 3,000 special trains. Among these, 2,000 trains will be operated for outgoing travel, while 800 will cater to devotees returning from the event.
To further enhance the convenience of pilgrims, the Ring Rail MEMU service will be introduced. This service is designed to provide comfortable and smooth travel to major religious destinations such as Ayodhya, Kashi, and Chitrakoot. Pilgrims will benefit from a hassle-free and direct travel experience, making their journey more convenient and enjoyable.
In Mahakumbh 2013, Indian Railways operated a total of 1,122 special trains. For Mahakumbh 2025, this number has been significantly increased to provide better facilities for passengers.
To manage the rush and ease travel, 23 pairs (46 trains) will have additional stoppages at Prayagraj and Naini Junction. This initiative aims to ensure a more convenient and comfortable journey for the pilgrims.
